Preparing Your Ski Transfer from Geneva
A good ski holiday starts with a smooth transfer. Here is a checklist to make your journey from Geneva Airport to the mountains easy and stress-free.
1. Winter equipment on the roads
In France, the mountain law requires vehicles to carry snow chains or socks, or to be fitted with winter tyres, in mountain areas from 1 November to 31 March. In Switzerland, winter tyres are strongly recommended and chains can be compulsory on some roads. Our vehicles are equipped for winter and our chauffeurs know when chains are needed.
2. Luggage and ski equipment
- Tell us the exact number of suitcases, ski bags, snowboards and boot bags
- A V-Class carries up to 7 passengers and 10 bags; for large groups, choose a Sprinter
- Pushchairs and child seats must be mentioned in advance
3. Choosing your travel day and time
- Saturdays are the main changeover day in French resorts: roads to the Tarentaise valley (Courchevel, Méribel, Val Thorens, Tignes) are very busy
- Arriving on a Friday or Sunday, or leaving early in the morning, can save a lot of time
- During school holidays, book your transfer well in advance
4. Access to your chalet
- Give the full address and, if possible, a GPS location or photo of the entrance
- Some chalets are only accessible by narrow roads or ski-in/ski-out tracks: tell us so we can plan the drop-off
- For car-free resorts (Zermatt, Wengen, Mürren, Saas-Fee), we drop you at the station or car park
5. On the day
- Keep your phone switched on after landing
- Your chauffeur monitors your flight and waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign
- Stops for groceries on the way to the chalet can be arranged
