Geneva Airport Guide: Arrivals and Meeting Your Chauffeur

Geneva Airport (GVA) is located about 4 km from the city centre, right on the French border. Its unusual layout – with a Swiss sector and a French sector – sometimes confuses first-time visitors. Here is what you need to know.

Swiss sector and French sector

Most passengers arrive in the Swiss sector. A small number of flights to and from France use the French sector, which allows travellers to enter or leave directly on the French side (towards Ferney-Voltaire) without passing through Switzerland. If your flight uses the French sector, tell us when booking so your chauffeur waits on the right side.

Where your chauffeur meets you

  • After baggage claim and customs, your chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign
  • You receive the chauffeur’s details 24 hours before pick-up
  • If your flight is delayed, we adapt automatically thanks to flight monitoring

Private and business aviation

Private jet passengers are handled at the business aviation facilities, separate from the main terminal. See our Geneva FBO chauffeur service.

Useful tips

  • Geneva Airport also has a railway station with direct trains to Geneva, Lausanne and beyond
  • Free public transport tickets for the city are available at the baggage claim area for arriving passengers
  • In winter, ski season Saturdays are particularly busy: allow extra time for departures

Enter your pick-up address, destination and date in the booking form to receive an instant fixed price, confirmed before you book, with secure online payment by card via Stripe. For multi-day bookings, several vehicles or special requests, contact us 24/7 by phone, WhatsApp or email.
